YMCA Comprehensive Institute: Building a Skilled and Productive Generation
Since its establishment in 1986, YMCA Comprehensive Institute has been at the forefront of equipping the youths in Uganda and neighboring countries with vocational and technical skills. This institute is a registered and classified Higher Tertiary Institution by the National Council for Higher Education in Uganda, offering a wide range of vocational and technical programs at certificate and diploma levels.
YMCA Comprehensive Institute is a proud member of the YMCA branches located in various parts of the country, including Kampala, Jinja, Mukono, Mbarara, Kasese, and Mbale. The institute has recognized administrative structures co-ordinated by the Uganda YMCA National Secretariat, which is supervised by the National Executive Committee and other YMCA National systems.
The demand for vocational and technical skills has increased in recent years, and YMCA Comprehensive Institute is responding to this trend by promoting the vocation programs to a degree level in 2014. The goal is to build a fully-fledged human capital ready for work and self-sustenance, thereby contributing to the development of the country.
