Makerere Day and Evening class for adults (MAECA) is a registered school with the Ministry of Education, and it is the first school of its kind in Uganda. This school is an excellent opportunity for individuals who never completed their education up to A ‘level.
Rev. Pr. Headison M. Nyanzi, a qualified teacher, started MAECA in 1996 with only three adults at Makerere Redeemed church. With the help of Director Mrs. Christine Nyanzi, the school has grown to over thousands of students, attending classes at different hours of the day.
MAECA has a UNEB Examination Centre and offers both Arts and Science subjects at all levels according to individual choice. We also offer languages, such as English only. The school has accommodation mainly catering for distant students. Our fees structure is friendly to different levels of people. The school is organized in a family set up, and each student is taken as a family member and can be helped by fellow students in time of need.
MAECA has helped many individuals to achieve their dreams in different areas, including the political arena, management, and administration in various institutions and organizations. The school has a beautiful, neat, and quiet environment with experienced and qualified teachers. We have a well-stocked library, co-curricular programs, computer studies, and guidance and counseling services. There is no need for a school uniform because we are dealing with adults. However, decent dressing is encouraged.
