Hospice Africa Uganda (HAU) is a center of excellence for palliative care in Africa. With headquarters in Kampala and two smaller sites in Hoima and Mbarara, HAU is committed to providing the best possible care to patients with life-limiting illnesses.
HAU’s education and training program is another reason why it’s a center of excellence. They offer short courses for healthcare professionals, including doctors, clinical officers, registered nurses/midwives, pharmacists, dispensers, and other allied professionals. These courses equip professionals with modern methods of pain assessment and management, as well as improving communication and clinical skills. The courses also focus on the holistic approach to caring for patients with life-limiting illnesses, ensuring that patients receive compassionate care.
