Description

Whisper’s Magical Children’s Hospital and Maternity is a hospital unlike any other in Uganda. Founded in 2016 by the Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Gabula Nadiope IV, and run by Whisper the Union for Childcare, Outreach and Education, the hospital is the first of its kind in the country, offering top-of-the-line medical care for children up to 13 years of age. With funding from Whisper, a charity registered in England and Wales, and Nadační fond Whisper, a charity registered in the Czech Republic, Whisper’s Magical Children’s Hospital and Maternity is able to provide its services at an affordable cost.

The hospital’s flat rate admission fee of UGX 90,000 for child inpatients includes hospital gowns and meals for the patient and their carer, making it a cost-effective option for families in need. Whisper’s Magical Children’s Hospital and Maternity also offers maternity and gynaecology services, including antenatal programmes, ultrasound scans, deliveries (including C-sections), and a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), complete with phototherapy and foetal heart rate monitors.

In addition to its paid services, Whisper’s Magical Children’s Hospital and Maternity offers several free services, including tuberculosis and sickle cell clinics for children, free cervical cancer screening for women, free immunisation services for children, free ultrasound scans for pregnant women, and free physiotherapy clinics for children. The hospital’s commitment to providing accessible and affordable healthcare to all children in Uganda is truly admirable.

Whisper’s Magical Children’s Hospital and Maternity is a place where children’s health comes first. With its state-of-the-art facilities and compassionate staff, it is a hospital that parents can trust to take care of their children in times of need.
