Villa Maria Hospital, a member of the network of Catholic Health Institutions in Uganda, is a leading healthcare institution located in Kalungu District, Uganda. The hospital was founded in 1902 by the White Sisters, also known as the Sisters of Our Lady of Africa, and is owned by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Masaka, with the Board of Trustees of the diocese holding powers of signatory for the hospital.
Villa Maria Hospital’s mission is based on the imitation of Christ and His deeds, promoting life to the full and healing the sick. The hospital is committed to a holistic, integrated, and sustainable action in health, which includes treatment, prevention, health promotion, social welfare, and economic empowerment through community programs and training of health workers.
