Ecobank Uganda is a commercial bank located in Kampala, Uganda’s capital city. Established in 2009, it operates under a license granted by the Bank of Uganda, providing wholesale, retail, investment, and transaction banking services to various entities, including governments, financial institutions, multinationals, international organizations, businesses, and individuals.
As a subsidiary of Ecobank Transnational, a banking conglomerate headquartered in Lome, Togo, Ecobank Uganda has a strong backing that allows it to offer a wide range of financial products and services.
The bank’s total assets were UGX:278.8 billion as of December 2014, with shareholders’ equity of UGX:46.9 billion. Under the leadership of Grace Muliisa, the current Managing Director, Ecobank Uganda has maintained a strong presence across the country, with branches located in different regions, including Kampala, Entebbe, Jinja, Mbarara, and Nakasero, among others.
